Inclement weather forced the opening round of the ACN Championship Golf Tournament to be suspended on multiple occasions at the Miki Golf Club on Thursday.
The starting time was first suspended for more than two hours because of heavy rain in the morning. It was further delayed due to course maintenance and players could only start their round at 12:40pm in the afternoon.
The first round was finally called off at 5:24 pm (local time) due to darkness and will resume at 7:20am on Friday morning.
None of the 114 players in the field completed their first round. Satoshi Kodaira, a seven-time JGTO winner, sits atop the leaderboard after marking his card with six birdies to lead at six-under through 12 holes.
Hidaeki Morimoto and Mikumu Horikawa are a further shot back at five-under through 13 holes.
Taiko Nishiyama, Takumi Kanaya and Kosei Takeyama are also at five-under through 12, nine and seven holes respectively.
